Altoona Community Theatre is proud to offer a series of summer workshops for children and teens These workshops help students build self-expression, self-confidence and communication skills through theatre games and improvisational activities. Students learn basic theatre terminology as well as the legacy behind the historic Mishler Theatre. The students also gain an understanding of the elements involved in staging a live theatrical production (from auditions to performance) by preparing a short play for family and friends. All classes are conducted at ACT’s rehearsal hall at 1213 12th Street (next to Tom and Joe’s Diner and around the corner from the Mishler Theatre). Workshops are separated by grade levels – please choose a camp for the grade your child just completed. ADVANCED ACTING FOR TEENS: This workshop will offer training in the next level of acting mastery for students in grades 9 - 12: for those teens who have attended ACT's Summer Drama Camps for several years, or, have performed with their school's drama program and are ready for an additional challenge! Yes! You can register for both the C-level summer camp and the Advanced Acting Workshop for Teens. The two sessions will be very different experiences, with the C-level camp geared toward a final group performance, and the Advanced Acting workshop focused on individual work and partner scenes.

Harmony Area SD is launching a NEW mobile app to help students, parents, and community members know what is happening around the district from their phones. Most families use their phones as a primary means of communication, so we've created an app that is custom-built for our smartphones as well as traditional website updates. On the app, our students, parents, and community can read the latest announcements, locate staff contact information, review upcoming events, and find important documents. The Harmony Area SD app is available to download free from the Apple App Store or the Google Play store. Please consider downloading the app today!
